[0035]The front of the various cards will include writing which reads, as illustrated for example in FIG. 5 the "LEMONADE STAND" card 30, in FIG. 6 the "SUSPEND SALES, NO LEMONS" card 34, in FIG. 7 the "CRATE OF LEMONS, RESUME SALES" card 38 and in FIG. 8 the "$100" card 42.

[0036]The front of the various playing cards reads as follows with financial cards, which constitute about 52 percent of the deck, including:

[0037]Lemonade Stand [0038]and

[0039]$100 [0040]and

[0041]$50 [0042]and

[0043]$25 [0044]and

[0045]$5 [0046]and

[0047]Protection Fifty Dollars [0048]andwith the timing cards, which constitute about 42 percent of the deck, including:

[0049]All Stands Closed [0050]and

[0051]Suspend Sales No Ice [0052]and

[0053]Resume Sales Bag of Ice [0054]and

[0055]Suspend Sales No Cups [0056]and

[0057]Resume Sales Stack of Cups [0058]and

[0059]Suspend Sales No Sugar [0060]and

[0061]Resume Sales Pound of Sugar [0062]and

[0063]Suspend Sales No Lemons [0064]and

[0065]Resume Sales Crate of Lemons [0066]and

[0067]Pay for Supplies [0068]andwith the activity cards, which constitute about 6 percent of the deck, including:

[0069]That's My Money, You Sold My Lemonade [0070]and

[0071]Bus Full of Customers and Supplies [0072]and

[0073]Banker.

[0074]The present invention, the Card Game, Lemonade Stand Edition, from a simple overview, involves getting a "Lemonade Stand" card. Then, start earning "Money" by placing "Money" cards down on the table next to your "Lemonade Stand" card. If another player places a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card, you can not earn "Money" until you get the right "Resume Sales" card. The first person to earn $1,000 is the winner of the game.

[0075]A simplified game derived from the complete game described above is to remove all of the cards from the deck except "Lemonade Stand", "Money", "Protection", "That's My Money" and "Banker" cards. This should be done for new or younger players to learn the basic pattern of the game and then add the other cards you want to have in the game when you are ready for them to be added.

[0076]The complete game rules require from 2 to 8 players and 106 cards. Shuffle and deal, face down, six cards to each player. The dealer cuts the remainder of the pack and places one half of the deck in the middle of the table and reserves the second half until needed. The person to the dealers left draws first. You must get a "Lemonade Stand" card. Table your "Lemonade Stand" card by placing the card face up in front of you on to the table. If you do not have a "Lemonade Stand" card, tell the other players you will trade a "Five Dollars" card for a "Lemonade Stand" card. If you have an extra "Lemonade Stand" card, offer it as a trade for "Five Dollars" as once all players have one of the twelve "Lemonade Stand" cards in the deck, the extra "Lemonade Stand" cards are worthless. Until you get a "Lemonade Stand" card, discard "Resume Sales" or "Suspend Sales" cards. Deals are done at any time as long as the deal involves the player whose turn it has become, the player holding seven cards. All deals are hand to hand and can include tabled cards. All players must have six cards in their hand at the end of each turn. Each time you draw, you must table cards, discard, or play any of the cards explained herein. Once discarded, a card can not be picked up from the discard pile.

[0077]Each card of the deck is explained below with the number of such cards indicated in parentheses:

[0078]Lemonade Stand (12)--A "Lemonade Stand" card tabled in front of you is necessary to table "Money" cards, Protect "Money" cards with a "Protection" card or play "All Stands Closed" cards, "That's My Money" cards or the "Bus Full of Customers and Supplies" card.

[0079]Money Cards: $100 (1) $50 (6) $25 (12) $5 (20)--"Money" cards can be placed next to your "Lemonade Stand" card face up so as to be counted for you at the end of a hand. You can not place a "Money" card next to your "Lemonade Stand" card if you have a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card. The highest "Money" card in your hand at the end of a hand counts against the "Money" accumulated on the table.

[0080]Protection Fifty Dollars (4)--The "Protection" card protects any amount you have on the table up to Fifty Dollars but once placed, can not be moved or added to in any way. A "Protection" card can not be played when you have a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card.

[0081]All Stands Closed (8)--An "All Stands Closed" card can be discarded without effect but when played, by placing card on top of draw deck, it stops the hand and can be played by anyone without a "Suspend Sales" card on their "Lemonade Stand" card. "All Stands Closed" cards are permitted to play only during the last half of the draw deck.

[0082]Suspend and Resume Sales Cards "Suspend Sales" and "Resume Sales" cards are split into four categories and each "Suspend Sales" card placed on your "Lemonade Stand" card needs a specific "Resume Sales" card to resume playing "Money" cards, "Protection" cards, "That's My Money" cards, or "All Stands Closed" cards. The right "Resume Sales" card needs to be drawn or bargained for or you can play a "Pay for Supplies" card if you have an unprotected "Money" card. Playing the "Bus Full of Customers and Supplies" card also removes a "Suspend Sales" card and then you discard the "Suspend Sales" card. You need to ask for the right card from the other players and bargain for it if you do not have any card to remove the "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card. You can still place a "Suspend Sales" card on anyone even if you have a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card.

[0083]Specific Suspend and Resume Sales Cards as set forth above include:

TABLE-US-00001 Suspend Sales No Ice (3) Resume Sales Bag of Ice (5) Suspend Sales No Cups (3) Resume Sales Stack of Cups (5) Suspend Sales No Sugar (3) Resume Sales Pound of Sugar (5) Suspend Sales No Lemons (3) Resume Sales Crate of Lemons (5)

[0084]Pay for Supplies (5)--You must have an unprotected "Money" card on the table to discard to use this card. Play with any unprotected "Money" card to remove any "Suspend Sales" card from your "Lemonade Stand" card.

[0085]That's My Money You sold my lemonade (4)--Play this card and you can choose any one unprotected "Money" card on the table from any player. This card can not be played with a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand" card.

[0086]Bus Full of Customers and Supplies (1)--Play this card and any "Suspend Sales" is lifted immediately and you collect the highest unprotected "Money" card from each player.

[0087]The Banker (1)--The person holding this card until the end of the hand gets a cut of 10% from each player's net score at the end of hand, including protected "Money", added to their score or can risk a 50/50 chance of losing any cut by using the dice option. Roll a 1, 2 or 3, get 10%, 20% or 30% but roll a 4, 5 or 6 on the first roll, get 0%. Rolling a 1, 2 or 3 also grants you a re-roll option and multiple re-rolls are allowed. A re-roll of a 2 is for a 2, 3 or 4 and gets you 20%, 30% or 40%. If, on a re-roll of a 2, you roll a 1, 5 or 6, you lose any cut. Roll a 4 on a re-roll of a 2, no re-roll is allowed, take 40%. A re-roll of a 3 is for a 3, 4 or 5 but you lose any cut if you roll a 1, 2 or 6. Roll a 5 on a re-roll of a 3 and you take 50% of all net totals for that hand.

[0088]At the end of a hand, each player takes a turn counting out loud, to the person keeping score, their total score by subtracting the highest "Money" card in their hand from their total "Money" down. The score keeper deducts 10% from every player and adds that amount to the player holding the "Banker" card, if not changed by the dice option. The scoring if the dice option is used is to reduce each score by the percent won. The best way to calculate this is to start with an amount of 10%. Move the decimal to the left one digit. For example: 150=15. Double the amount of 10% for 20%. Triple it for 30%. Double the amount of 20% for 40%. Cut in half the total score of each player for calculating 50%. Add these amounts to the score of the person holding the "Banker" card. The first to earn "One Thousand Dollars" wins the game.

[0089]In an alternate embodiment of the invention, add Picky Customers Cards and Bankruptcy Card. These eight cards for an expanded game and use these rules in addition to the rules of the simple game. All "Picky Customers" and "Bankruptcy" cards in your hand count against your total money earned at the end of a hand.

[0090]Picky Customers--$25 Everyone in the car is complaining (7) You must skip a turn when you play this card. Place card "face up" in front of you near the discard pile. This is to remind you to skip a turn. On your next turn, do not draw from the deck but place the card on the discard pile. You can play a "Picky Customers" card if you do not have any "Money", or even a "Lemonade Stand" card. You must discard the lowest unprotected "Money" card you have tabled when you play a "Picky Customers" card. A "Picky Customers" card can be played when you have a "Suspend Sales" card on your "Lemonade Stand". Anytime one of these cards is played, each player passes a card, face down, from their hand to the player on their left. Each card passed should stay face down on the table until all cards can be picked up simultaneously.

[0091]Bankruptcy--$100 Everyone on the bus is furious (1) You must skip two turns if you play this card. Place card "face up" in front of you near the discard pile. On your next turn, do not draw from the deck, flip the card over and wait until you skip two turns before you place the card on the discard pile. You lose everything unprotected that you have tabled if you must play the "Bankruptcy" card. All cards, to include your "Lemonade Stand" card, with or without a "Suspend Sales" card, and "Money" cards, except if protected, are all to be discarded if you play the "Bankruptcy" card. Anytime one of these cards is played, each player passes a card, face down, from their hand to the player on their left. Each card passed should stay face down on the table until all cards can be picked up simultaneously.

[0092]One recommendation is that you wait until someone else plays a "Picky Customers" card so as to pass the "Bankruptcy" card to another player or wait to draw a "Picky Customers" card and play it so as to pass the "Bankruptcy" card to another player.

[0093]Use the following "Expanded Rules For Scoring" when using "Picky Customers" and "Bankruptcy" cards.

[0094]At the end of a hand, each player takes a turn counting out loud, to the person keeping score, their total score by subtracting all "Picky Customers" and "Bankruptcy" cards and the highest "Money" card in their hand from their total "Money" down.

[0095]As to the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

[0096]With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

[0097]Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
