20150105287 | Microfluidic Systems and Methods for Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) - An integrated microfluidic chromatin immunoprecipitation assay dramatically improves the collection efficiency of ChIP DNA from cells. Immunoprecipitation of chromatin fragments is conducted in a microfluidic chamber with a large fraction of its volume (e.g., ˜15-40%) occupied by magnetic immunoprecipitation (IP) beads. Oscillating washing of the beads, enabled by, e.g., solenoid valves (controlled by a computer) and high pressure attached to both ends of the microfluidic chamber, effectively removes unbound chromatin and produces high-quality ChIP DNA. ChIP DNA produced by an example device generates excellent results in the subsequent DNA library preparation. The ChIP-seq (i.e., ChIP followed by next-generation sequencing) results match very well with public data generated using much larger cell sample sizes and a conventional approach. | 04-16-2015 |

20130201291 | HEAD POSE TRACKING USING A DEPTH CAMERA - Head pose tracking technique embodiments are presented that use a group of sensors configured so as to be disposed on a user's head. This group of sensors includes a depth sensor apparatus used to identify the three dimensional locations of features within a scene, and at least one other type of sensor. Data output by each sensor in the group of sensors is periodically input, and each time the data is input it is used to compute a transformation matrix that when applied to a previously determined head pose location and orientation established when the first sensor data was input identifies a current head pose location and orientation. This transformation matrix is then applied to the previously determined head pose location and orientation to identify a current head pose location and orientation. | 08-08-2013 |

20130329329 | SOLID STATE POWER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT HIGH VOLTAGE DC POWER DISTRIBUTION - An electrical power distribution system (EPDS) for an aircraft, the EPDS may include a DC bus, a power source port, a solid state power controller (SSPC) of a first type interposed between the power source port and the DC bus, at least one load port and an SSPC of a second type interposed between the load port and the DC bus. Power input to the SSPC of the first type may be connected to a unidirectional solid state switching device (SSSD) of the SSPC of the first type. The SSPC of the first type may have forward and reverse current conducting capability and forward and reverse current blocking capability. Power input to the SSPC of the second type may be connected to a unidirectional SSSD of the SSPC of the second type. The SSPC of the second type may have forward and reverse current conducting capability and capability of blocking current from only one direction. | 12-12-2013 |

20150308919 | INTELLIGENT ADAPTIVE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING LEAKAGE OF OIL PIPELINE NETWORKS BASED ON BIG DATA - The present invention relates to an intelligent adaptive system and method for monitoring leakage of oil pipeline networks based on big data. The present invention effectively analyzes a large amount of data collected on site within a reasonable time period and obtains a state of a pipeline network by an intelligent adaptive method, thereby obtaining a topological structure of a pipeline network. The present invention specifically adopts a flow balance method in combination with information conformance theory to analyze whether the pipeline network has leakage; small amount of leakage and slow leakage can be perfectly and accurately alarmed upon detection; as a generalized regression neural network is adopted to locate a leakage of the pipeline network, an accuracy of a result is increased. Therefore, the present invention adopts a policy and intelligent adaptive method based on big data to solve problems of detecting and locating leakage of the pipeline network. | 10-29-2015 |

20130167037 | INTEGRATED SERVICE FEATURE GATHERING AND SELECTION SYSTEM - Techniques are disclosed for providing and using an integrated service feature gathering and selection system that can be used to send service requests to multiple network services. In an embodiment, a user interface that allows a user to select features and options for a service job without knowing which network service will eventually process the service job. Based on the selected features and options, the application program (or a network server if the user interface is Web-based instead of client-based) determines the network service to which the service job will be sent. In an embodiment, a network server receives capabilities data from multiple network services and builds, based on the capabilities data, a database of network service description data, from which the user interface that is displayed to a client device is generated. | 06-27-2013 |

20140122021 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING SEPARATION EFFICIENCY OF CYCLONE SEPARATOR - The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for determining separation efficiency of a cyclone separator. The method comprises: collecting solid particles separated by a cyclone separator; performing a particle size analysis for the collected solid particles; calculating feature parameters of the collected solid particles according to a result of the particle size analysis, wherein the feature parameters are values representing particle size and particle size uniformity of the solid particles; and determining a separation efficiency corresponding to the feature parameters of the collected solid particles as a separation efficiency of the cyclone separator, according to a predetermined correspondence between feature parameter and separation efficiency. The present invention avoids the difficulty in directly measuring the material concentrations at the inlet and the outlet of the cyclone separator and has a small interference with the apparatus. In addition, the test requires a simple operation and has a good repeatability. | 05-01-2014 |
