20140246581 | LOOPED IONIZATION SOURCE - Looped ionization sources for ion mobility spectrometers are described. The ionization sources can be used to ionize molecules from a sample of interest in order to identify the molecules based on the ions. In an implementation, an electrical ionization source includes a wire that is looped between electrical contacts. The wire is used to form a corona responsive to application of voltage between the wire and the walls of an ionization chamber. The corona can form when a sufficient voltage is applied between the wire and the walls. A difference in electrical potential between the wire and a wall forming an ionization chamber, in which wire is contained, can be used to draw the ions away from the wire. In embodiments, the wire can be heated to reduce the voltage used to strike the corona. The ions, subsequently, may ionize the molecules from the sample of interest. The looped corona source can also be used in mass spectrometers (MS). | 09-04-2014 |

20140264021 | ION MOBILITY SPECTROMETRY (IMS) DEVICE WITH CHARGED MATERIAL TRANSPORTATION CHAMBER - An ion detection assembly is described that includes a drift chamber, an inlet assembly, and a collector assembly. The drift chamber is formed of substantially non-conductive material and/or semi-conductive material. A patterned resistive trace is deposited on one or more of an interior surface or an exterior surface of the drift chamber. The patterned resistive trace is configured to connect to a source of electrical energy. The inlet assembly and the collector assembly are in fluid communication with the drift chamber. The inlet assembly includes an inlet for receiving a sample, a reaction region for ionizing the sample, and a gate for controlling entrance of the ionized sample to the drift chamber. The collector assembly includes a collector plate for collecting the ionized sample after the ionized sample passes through the drift chamber. | 09-18-2014 |

20140211870 | Communication Systems and Methods Supporting Multiple Modulation Techniques - A communication system includes a first DAC array, a second DAC array, and a merge component. The first DAC array is configured to receive a first portion of modulation signals and to generate a first RF signal according to a modulation mode. The second DAC array is configured to receive a second portion of the modulation signals and to generate a second RF signal according to the modulation mode. The merge component is configured to receive the first RF signal and the second RF signal. The merge component is also configured to generate an output RF signal according to the first RF signal and the second RF signal, wherein the output RF signal has a modulation format according to the modulation mode. | 07-31-2014 |
20140269855 | Transmitter and Receiver - A multicarrier transmitter has a first mode, in which the transmitter is configured to transmit a first component carrier signal modulated onto a first carrier by using a first LO signal, and a second mode, in which the transmitter is configured to transmit the first component carrier signal modulated onto the first carrier and a second component carrier signal modulated onto a second carrier by using a second LO signal. The multicarrier transmitter is coupled to a controllable oscillator and configured to adapt a frequency of an LO signal output by the controllable oscillator dependent on the multicarrier transmitter being activated in the first or second mode to output the first LO signal or the second LO signal. For example, the multicarrier transmitter may be configured to switch between the first mode and the second mode while transmitting the component carrier signals. | 09-18-2014 |
20140269993 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING A PLURALITY OF MODULATED SIGNALS - A method and an apparatus provide a plurality of modulated signals by frequency shifting an output signal of a carrier signal generation circuit for obtaining a first carrier signal and a second carrier signal, and by modulating the first and second carrier signals. | 09-18-2014 |

20090045164 | "UNIVERSAL" BARRIER CMP SLURRY FOR USE WITH LOW DIELECTRIC CONSTANT INTERLAYER DIELECTRICS - During processing of a semiconductor wafer bearing a structure including a low-k dielectric layer, a cap layer and the metal-diffusion barrier layer, a chemical mechanical polishing method applied to remove the metal-diffusion barrier material involves two phases. In the second phase of the barrier-CMP method, when the polishing interface is close to the low-k dielectric material, the polishing conditions are changed so as to be highly selective, producing a negligible removal rate of the low-k dielectric material. The polishing conditions can be changed in a number of ways including: changing parameters of the composition of the barrier slurry composition, and mixing an additive into the barrier slurry. | 02-19-2009 |

20140133277 | COMPOSITE ASSEMBLY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE - A composite assembly for a motor vehicle having at least one electroacoustic transducer for outputting sound waves and at least one wall element of the motor vehicle, behind which the transducer is mounted in a concealed manner, wherein an intermediate element for influencing the sound emission behavior is arranged between the transducer and the wall element, the intermediate element having a contact surface facing the wall element for passing on the sound waves. At least one recess is formed within the contact surface, in which recess no contact is made between the intermediate element and the wall element. In this way, it is possible to influence the emission characteristics of the electroacoustic transducer in a very flexible and need-oriented manner. | 05-15-2014 |
