20110149398 | Instant messaging method-much faster than light communication - Described is a means for communication, enabling message transmission faster than the speed of light between two separated locations. A photon source feeds a splitter, which allows a single photon to split between flowing down the left input side and the right output side. On the left, the photon enters a phase splitter, which produces an in-phase and inverted phase signal. With the delay switch at zero delay, both signals arrive together at the combiner with opposite phase, canceling each other out. With the delay switch set to half a wavelength, no cancellation results and the signal passes unabated through the combiner. In this mode, approximately, fifty percent of the photons register at each detector, which are equidistant from the photon source. In the former mode, (delay switch set to zero) much more of the photons appear at the output detector, and no signal appears at the input detector. | 06-23-2011 |

20120046576 | Mid-face aesthetic scale and related methods - This disclosure relates to mid-face aesthetic scales and related methods for evaluating fullness in a mid-face area of a human patient's face. In exemplary embodiments, the mid-face area is defined as medial to the maxillary prominence, lateral to the medial canthus, inferior to the maxillary prominence, superior to the plane of nasal alae, and lateral to the nose. An exemplary method for evaluating fullness in a mid-face area of a human patient's face comprises visually comparing a plurality of views of the patient's mid-face against a mid-face scale, and assigning a grade from the scale to the patient's mid-face based on the visual comparison. | 02-23-2012 |

20130209057 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CAPTURING AN IMAGE - A method and apparatus are provided for capturing an image so that color degradations can be minimized. During operation, a video-recording system will fetch and record the scene without the illumination of the light bars. More particularly, as a video recorder/transmitter is set to record, logic circuitry triggers the light bars to turn off for a short period of time (e.g., a few seconds), and then turned back on. During that time period, the field-of-vision (unencumbered by the stroboscopic illumination and color) is sampled by the camera as a reference. Color correction/compensation is performed using the unencumbered field-of-vision as a reference. | 08-15-2013 |
