20120040625 | REAL-TIME RSL MONITORING IN A WEB-BASED APPLICATION - A system and method for monitoring an attribute of a received signal in a wireless network having plural radios wherein one of the radios includes a monitoring module operatively connected to a second network. An attribute of one radio is monitored substantially continuously at the monitoring module. A display device is operatively connected to the second network. A value representative of the current state of the attribute is transmitted via the second network to the display device upon a change in the state of the attribute from a previous state of the attribute, and the value is displayed on the display device. | 02-16-2012 |

20130054259 | Rule-based Prediction of Medical Claims' Payments - Some embodiments of the present invention evaluate claim submissions. Prediction(s) are generated that employ machine learning engine(s) and/or expert models executing on processor(s). The prediction(s) may forecast if claim data when submitted to a payer will result in at least one of the following: an approved submission; a denied submission; and an apparent payment variation. The machine learning engine(s) may be updated using use the prediction. Labeled data may be generated by classifying patient claim data residing in a database of claim records and histories with at least one of the following: an anomaly detection label; a contract based label; and a combination of the above. Claims classification model(s) may be trained using the labeled data. Predictive paid amount model(s) may be created that employ at least the labeled data and/or an amount paid on a claim. | 02-28-2013 |

20080254059 | Adenovirus Serotype 26 Vectors, Nucleic Acid and Viruses Produced Thereby - Adenoviral serotypes differ in their natural tropism. The various serotypes of adenovirus have been found to differ in at least their capsid proteins (e.g., penton-base and hexon proteins), proteins responsible for cell binding (e.g., fiber proteins), and proteins involved in adenovirus replication. This difference in tropism and capsid proteins among serotypes has led to many research efforts aimed at redirecting the adenovirus tropism by modification of the capsid proteins. The present invention bypasses such requirement for capsid protein modification as it presents a recombinant, replication-defective adenovirus of serotype 26, a rare adenoviral serotype, and methods for generating the alternative, recombinant adenovirus. Additionally, means of employing the recombinant adenovirus for delivery and expression of heterologous genes are provided. | 10-16-2008 |
20090098155 | Peptide conjugate compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of alzheimer's disease - The invention provides compositions and methods for the treatment of diseases associated with amyloid deposits of Aβ in the brain of a patient, such as Alzheimer's disease. Such methods entail administering an immunogenic fragment of Aβ, lacking a T-cell epitope, capable of inducing a beneficial immune response in the form of antibodies to Aβ. In another aspect, the immunogenic fragment of Aβ is capable of elevating plasma Aβ levels. The immunogenic fragments comprise linear or multivalent peptides of Aβ. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the immunogenic fragment chemically linked to a carrier molecule which may be administered with an adjuvant. | 04-16-2009 |
20100183651 | Broadly Representative Antigen Sequences and Method for Selection - A novel method for generating vaccine sequences is disclosed herein that preserves contiguous epitope length stretches of amino acids or nucleotides from an input pool of sequences. The method generates continuous, stepwise epitope consensus that together provides for a single globally optimized sequence. The end sequences are designed to maximize overlap between any potential epitope length sequence extract from a natural antigen sequence. The disclosed method, thus, allows one to maximize the number of potential natural epitopes that are mimicked in a resultant vaccine sequence. Various representative HIV vaccine sequences have been generated and are disclosed herein. | 07-22-2010 |
20110052611 | PEPTIDE CONJUGATE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE - The invention provides compositions and methods for the treatment of diseases associated with amyloid deposits of Aβ in the brain of a patient, such as Alzheimer's disease. 20140319843 | MICRO GAS TURBINE ENGINE FOR POWERING A GENERATOR - A unique, small microturbine engine adapted to integrate with an electrical generator for producing electrical power has been developed. The microturbine includes an ejector cooling scheme, a prevaporizing combustor, and a combustor air bypass. The ejector cooling scheme uses energy in the hot exhaust gas stream of the microturbine to entrain a flow of ambient air that cools the generator. The prevaporizing combustor of the present invention allows liquid fuel to be vaporized in a small amount of air prior to combustion, thereby increasing combustion efficiency and decreasing combustor size requirements. The combustor air bypass allows a fraction of the compressor discharge air to bypass the prevaporizing combustor under certain operating conditions. This permits control of the overall equivalence ratio and the fuel/air mixing process in the combustion zone, improving efficiency and operability. | 10-30-2014 |
