20090166545SHIELDING AN IMAGING ARRAY FROM X-RAY NOISE - An electronic imaging sensor, which has an improved immunity to noise caused by unwanted x-rays, images an object by collecting charge carriers produced in the sensor when the object is exposed to x-rays. One or more shielding areas are formed proximate the sensor to capture or sweep away any undesirable charge carriers generated by the unwanted x-rays. The shielding areas extend deeper beneath the surface of the sensor than the depth at which the desired charge carriers corresponding to the object being imaged is collected. The shielding areas capture charge carriers formed by the unwanted x-rays, which penetrate into the sensor to a greater depth than the depth at which the desired charge carriers are collected. In this way, the undesirable charge carriers are captured near the region where they are generated and before they migrate towards the surface where they can be collected and manifest as noise in the resulting image of the object.07-02-2009

20130103456METHOD, SYSTEM AND PROGRAM STORAGE DEVICE FOR PRODUCTION PLANNING - Disclosed are embodiments of a production planning method, system and program storage device. The embodiments calculate and compare, in sequence, a first running cumulative sum of the average item quantity per a regular time interval for all demands within a specified time period and a second running cumulative sum of specific item quantities per the same regular interval for only high priority demands within the same time period. When a given entry in the first running cumulative sum is less than a corresponding entry in the second running cumulative sum, demand leveling is performed. Comparing and demand leveling are iteratively repeated until no entries in the first running cumulative sum, as updated, are less than corresponding entries in the second running cumulative sum. The results can then be used for production planning in order to achieve near-capacity manufacturing and meet at least the high priority customer demands.04-25-2013

20090060150Extending originating capabilities of a subscriber to devices in any telephony network - An exemplary method provides access to call origination features contained in an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) for a subscriber of the IMS who originates a call request from customer premises equipment (CPE) outside of the IMS. The call request is received at a public service identity (PSI) server in the IMS with a phone number to which the call request is routed. An IMS internal desk number is retrieved based on the number of the outside CPE. A first modified call request is transmitted from the PSI server to a telephony application server (TAS) identifying the IMS internal desk number as a request universal resource identity (RURI). Call origination treatment as specified by the subscriber is performed by the TAS. The first modified call request is processed by the TAS to form a second modified call request in which the RURI is a number of a destination party and a P-asserted identity (PAID) is the IMS internal desk number such that the second modified call request appears as if it was initiated from a phone within the IMS. The second modified call request is transmitted to a node in the IMS for further processing and ultimately termination at the destination party.03-05-2009
