20100035457 | Thread Lock for Cable Connectors - In a coaxial cable connector assembly, having a connector sleeve or retaining end of a coaxial cable and a coupling member between the sleeve and a terminal port to draw the sleeve into engagement with an end of the port, an internal locking device is made up of an annular groove formed along an internally threaded portion of the coupling member and a compressible washer which is pre-assembled in the groove, the coupling member having a male threaded end complementary to the internally threaded portion and washer so that when advanced through the internally threaded portion and washer will increase the torque loading between the coupling member and sleeve to resist accidental loosening or disengagement therebetween. The washer is an endless ring and formed in varying cross-sections for insertion into close-fitting engagement with the groove and may be utilized alone or in combination with seal and spring members at the interface between the male threaded end of the port and the internally threaded portion of the coupling member. In a modified form, an endless compressible liner is employed in place of the washer and groove to resist accidental loosening or disengagement between the post and coupling member. | 02-11-2010 |
20100077604 | ADAPTER TIPS FOR CABLE CONNECTORS - A hand-held tool for terminating connectors onto a coaxial cable has an elongated body and an end stop and plunger on the body, the plunger being controlled by a lever arm which will axially advance the plunger toward and away from the end stop to radially compress a portion of the connector into firm crimping engagement with the end of the coaxial cable. To accommodate different lengths of connectors, a plunger permits mounting of different length adapter tips to vary the axial spacing between the adapter tips and the end stop according to the length of connector being terminated. | 04-01-2010 |
20100144200 | UNIVERSAL CABLE CONNECTOR WITH INTERCHANGEABLE COLOR BANDS - A connector of termination assembly for a mini-coaxial cable in different embodiments is made up of an extension tip which is preassembled in a connector body to receive the inner conductor pin on the cable, a first inner sleeve which fits over an exposed end of the dielectric layer, a second outer sleeve which surrounds a compression ring, and a crimping ring is mounted on the outside of the outer sleeve to force the sleeves to be radially contracted into crimping engagement with the cable. Variations of the connector body may be employed for different types of connectors including modifications in the extension tip to facilitate insertion of the conductor into the assembly and color bands to signify the size of cable and intended application. | 06-10-2010 |
20100273351 | BULGE-TYPE COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR WITH PLASTIC SLEEVE - A cable termination assembly is made up of one of a plurality of connector bodies each having a thin-walled outer sleeve which may be composed of metal or plastic, the outer sleeve having a raised external wall surface portion which may be of convex or truncated convex configuration with or without depressions or interruptions in its external surface; and, depending on the pull out force required, utilization of a plastic sleeve enabling the use of a crimping ring consisting entirely of a metal ring of substantially uniform diameter with notch portions to engage external protuberances on the outer sleeve of the connector body. | 10-28-2010 |
20120178289 | BULGE-TYPE COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTOR WITH PLASTIC SLEEVE - A cable termination assembly is made up of one of a plurality of connector bodies each having a thin-walled outer sleeve which may be composed of metal or plastic, the outer sleeve having a raised external wall surface portion which may be of convex or truncated convex configuration with or without depressions or interruptions in its external surface; and, depending on the pull out force required, utilization of a plastic sleeve enabling the use of a crimping ring consisting entirely of a metal ring of substantially uniform diameter with notch portions to engage external protuberances on the outer sleeve of the connector body. | 07-12-2012 |
