20090222762CASCADING ITEM AND ACTION BROWSER - In one or more embodiments, a cascading item and action browser enables items and associated actions to be displayed. In at least some embodiments, items are presented in a column and can be selected by a user. Responsive to selecting a particular item or items, actions that can be performed on or relative to a selected item or items can be presented in a second adjacent column. From here, users can select one or more actions that can be performed on items presented in the first-mentioned column. Results of the action or actions being performed, at least some of which can include additional items, can then be presented in a next-adjacent column. Navigation through the items and actions displayed in their respective columns can then continue in a cascaded fashion.09-03-2009
20100070497Automated Criterion-Based Grouping and Presenting - Interrelated items in a complex item set (such as a set of components in a complex software architecture) may be difficult to present in a manner that facilitates an understanding and evaluation of the item set, due to the amount of information and the difficulty in automatically discerning the organization of the item set. A set of criteria may be utilized to form criterion groups to which items matching respective criteria may be automatically assigned. Further grouping assignments may be achieved by identifying an ungrouped item that is associated with a grouped item. Such techniques may be applied in many variations to yield a representation of the item set, and a presentation of the item set to a user, that aggregates similar items and interrelationships, thereby promoting an understanding and analysis of the structure and organization of the item set while reducing the user involvement in the generation of same.03-18-2010

20130262419SEMANTIC DIFF AND AUTOMERGE - Resolving conflicting changes to structured data files. A method includes for a structured data file which has both a generic structure and dialects built on top of the generic structure, for which conflicting changes have been made, and where an original version of the structured data, a first version of the structured data and a second version of the structured data exist, determining a dialect of the structured data. The method further includes, based on the determined dialect performing at least one of merge or diff operations on the original version of the structured data, the first version of the structured data and the second version of the structured data.10-03-2013

20080216052Application Program Interface for Network Software Platform - An application program interface (API) provides a set of functions that make available support for processing XML documents for application developers who build Web applications on Microsoft Corporation's .NET™ platform.09-04-2008
20080306617CORE OBJECT-ORIENTED TYPE SYSTEM FOR SEMI-STRUCTURED DATA - A type system employing structural subtyping is disclosed herein. A core type system supports several structural types, such as stream, choice, intersection and sequence. Also part of the core type system is a new invariant type, which denotes values whose dynamic type is the same as its static type, and type restrictions for limiting a range of a base type. Furthermore, a streamlined structural version of delegates, called structural delegates and a validation method thereof are introduce into the type system. To further facilitate type safety, strict statically checked interface casts are introduced.12-11-2008

20090006947Model-Based Editors for Dynamic Validation - Tools and techniques for dynamically validating editors are described herein. The tools may provide machine-readable storage media containing machine-readable instructions for receiving indications of user edits to a portion of a document, and for determining whether a customized editor is available for the edited portion of the document. The tools may also provide systems that include at least the dynamically validating editor.01-01-2009
20090030921INCREMENTAL PARSING OF HIERARCHICAL FILES - An incremental parser for hierarchical files is provided where the file can be parsed into a tree representation. Changes to the file can effectuate incremental changes to the tree such that the whole hierarchical file need not be reparsed; the incremental change modifies the necessary portions of the tree, not necessarily the entire tree. Moreover, the incremental parser can intelligently handle errors related to modification of the hierarchical file, such as unmatched tags corresponding to unmatched nodes in the tree. Such error handling provides operability with the malformed hierarchical file rather than providing an error and/or rejecting the file as modified.01-29-2009
20100242027IDENTIFYING GROUPS AND SUBGROUPS - Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to automatically identifying groups and subgroups in dependency data. In aspects, a data structure that indicates dependencies between components is analyzed to create groups that are related by dependencies. The groups are further analyzed to create subgroups that depend on shared components but that do not depend on each other. Information about the components is used to generate names for the groups that are indicative of the components included in the groups. The groups, their names, and their relationships may then be displayed.09-23-2010
20110249002MANIPULATION AND MANAGEMENT OF LINKS AND NODES IN LARGE GRAPHS - Scalable architecture for managing and rendering a large graph containing a large number of nodes and edges. The user can group arbitrary nodes to encapsulate complexity without losing any of the cross-group edges dependencies. All edges of the nodes contained in the group are rolled up into roll-up links (or “arteries”) where the graphical thickness indicates relatively how many links are bundled. By collapsing groups the entire view gives the user a clearer understanding of the graph. Information related to the groups and links is retained for drill-into to obtain the details inside each group on the same canvas and for user navigation across groups.10-13-2011
20120133579GESTURE RECOGNITION MANAGEMENT - A system and method for managing the recognition and processing of gestures. A system provides a mechanism to detect conflicts between gesture recognizers and resolve the conflicts. A runtime system receives notifications from gesture recognizers in the form of requests for resources or actions. A conflict detector determines whether a conflict with another gesture recognizer exists. If a conflict exists, a conflict resolver determines a resolution. This may include determining a winning gesture recognizer and deactivating the losing gesture recognizers. A design time system statically validates gesture recognizers based on static state machines corresponding to each gesture recognizer.05-31-2012
