20140104295 | TRANSFUSIVE IMAGE MANIPULATION - The disclosure provides an approach for transferring image edits from a source image to target images. In one embodiment, a warp application receives a user-selected region of interest in a source image and determines for the region of interest content-aware bounded weight functions and seed locations for the same. For each of the target images, the warping application initializes a linear blend skinning subspace warp to a projection onto a feature space of a piecewise affine map from scale invariant feature transform features of the source image to the target image. After initializing the warps, the warping application iteratively optimizes the warps by applying the inverse compositional Lucas-Kanade procedure and using the content-aware weight functions in said procedure. Edits made to the source image may automatically be transferred to target images by warping those edits via the optimized warp function for the respective target images. | 04-17-2014 |

20090283160 | FLUID FLOW CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL CIRCUIT - A fluid flow control device such as a volume booster has an inlet, an outlet and an exhaust port all for an operating fluid. A pilot inlet receives a pilot pressure signal which operates a valve stem actuator via a piston. The valve stem is operable to open a supply valve between the inlet and outlet and, separately and independently, to open an exhaust valve disposed between the outlet and the exhaust. In a further position both the valves are closed. Movement of the stem in a reciprocal manner by the piston causes a respective annular shoulder to engage a respective valve and lift it off a valve seat against the force of a biasing spring. A first fluid leak path is provided between the valve stem and the supply valve for allowing fluid to leak through the supply valve chamber when the supply valve is open and a second fluid leak path is defined by the exhaust valve for allowing fluid to leak through the exhaust valve chamber. The leak paths provide for a force balancing arrangement that allows the valve stem to move easily. A quick exhaust feature allows exhaust flow through the device instead of using a separate component. A regulated flow is provided to the actuator. The size of the exhaust port may be modulated by pilot control pressure. | 11-19-2009 |

20090139676 | ASA EMULSIFICATION WITH ULTRASOUND - The invention provides a method and apparatus for optimally feeding an ASA emulsion into a papermaking process. An intense transmission of ultrasonic energy rapidly and efficiently forms an ASA emulsion. Nearly simultaneous to forming the emulsion, the emulsion is fed into a high-speed dual conduit feeding apparatus, which quickly mixes the ASA emulsion with other chemicals and feeds the mixture directly into a papermaking process. The invention operates so fast that virtually no hydrolysis of the ASA occurs. This both prevents damage to the papermaking machinery and improves the quality of the produced paper. The invention operates 10-20 times faster than mechanical based emulsion methods and requires 1/7 as much energy to operate. The invention also self-monitors the process and can automatically correct any detected problems with the fed ASA emulsion. | 06-04-2009 |

20140096971 | NEW METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR FEEDING CHEMICALS INTO A HYDROFRACTURING PROCESS AND OIL AND GAS APPLICATIONS - A method of rapidly and essentially simultaneously creating and feeding a dispersion into a hydrocarbon process stream. This method allows for the effective use of chemical additives in a hydrocarbon process line that are highly unstable or that are very difficult to disperse. This is especially helpful in hydrofracturing operations as the very rapid flow rates require very fast dispersion formations. As a result the method allows greater fracking pressures which can be obtained with lower energy inputs and by using lessor amounts of chemical additives. As a result hydrocarbon extraction can be accomplished in a manner which is both more environmentally friendly as well as less expensive. | 04-10-2014 |
