20100218482SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COOLING ROCKET ENGINES - A propulsion system for a rocket engine and a method of cooling a rocket engine includes a propellant tank fluidically coupled to the rocket engine to hold a pressurized propellant, a coolant tank to hold a coolant, a first heat exchanger thermally coupled to the rocket engine and fluidically coupled to the coolant tank, a second heat exchanger thermally coupled to the propellant tank and fluidically coupled to the first heat exchanger, and a third heat exchanger disposed inside the propellant tank to thermally couple a propellant withdrawn from the tank for combustion to a propellant disposed inside the tank. The coolant flows from the coolant tank to the first heat exchanger and through the first heat exchanger to cool the rocket engine. The propellant withdrawn from the propellant tank receives heat from the propellant disposed inside the tank through the third heat exchanger to convert to a gaseous propellant when withdrawn from the propellant tank as a liquid propellant. The coolant flows from the first heat exchanger to the second heat exchanger and through the second heat exchanger to heat the propellant disposed inside the propellant tank.09-02-2010
20100326044METHOD FOR COOLING ROCKET ENGINES - A coolant system for a rocket propulsion system having a rocket engine and a propellant tank includes a first heat exchanger that is operatively coupled to the rocket engine. The cooling system also includes a second heat exchanger that is operatively coupled to the propellant tank, a coolant tank that is configured to hold a coolant, and a pump. The cooling system also includes a flow circuit, through which the coolant flows with the aid of the pump. The flow circuit is defined by the pump, the first heat exchanger, the second heat exchanger and the coolant tank. The coolant is pumped by the pump from the coolant tank to the first heat exchanger. The heat of combustion from the rocket engine is transferred to the coolant to cool the rocket engine. The heated coolant transfers the heat therein to the propellant with the second heat exchanger, thereby causing a pressure of the propellant in the propellant tank to be maintained at a desired level.12-30-2010

20080208295Phototherapy Treatment and Device to Improve the Appearance of Nails and skin - A method and apparatus for using phototherapy to beneficially improve the appearance of nails and skin. Light can be applied to nails and skin that is primarily germicidal to inactivate organisms that cause infections; applied as primarily cleansing light in which case it primarily improves the appearance of the nails and skin; or applied as a combination of the two, namely germicidal and cleansing light, in which case it is termed cleansing light. By applying the light for a set time and intensity to nails can be improved in appearance, whether or not an infection is present. By applying the light to skin with or without the presence of other compounds, skin appearance can be approved.08-28-2008
20090143842Phototherapy Treatment and Device for Infections, Diseases, and Disorders - A device to treat infections, diseases, and disorders. The device can be used to treat part of a larger organism such as using the device to kill cancerous cells in humans or animals or to kill parasites. The invention can also may be used to treat fungal and bacterial nail infections of the hands and feet which are difficult to treat with oral and topical drugs.06-04-2009
20090211585Coverings for Phototherapy and Topical Treatment - A method to effectively cover parts of the body that should not receive phototherapy treatment. The invention can also be used to cover parts of the body that are not receiving topical treatments and are adjacent to such areas being treated. Three variations of the covering device can be used separately or together in various combinations. An extremity covering device covers a large portion of a hand, foot or other extremity. A digit covering device covers one finger or toe. A skin covering device is used to cover areas not covered by the extremity or digit covering devices, or can be used separately to cover a finite area of the skin, nails, or other portion of a patient.08-27-2009
20110178510Method and Device to Inactivate and Kill Cells and Organisms that are Undesirable - A method, means, and apparatus to prevent and treat infections and disorders using germicidal light to inactivate and/or kill the organisms or cells that cause infections and other disorders. The method of treatment comprises irradiating the area to be treated using electromagnetic radiation of a germicidal nature. The method utilizes a previously unrecognized ability of germicidal light to penetrate the skin, nails, and other membranes sufficiently to successfully treat and prevent disorders. The electromagnetic radiation damages the organisms and cells that cause disorders such as skin and nail infections and renders them substantially incapable of reproducing. Without the ability to replicate the organism cannot continue to infest the skin and nails. The damage inflicted can also be sufficient to kill the organism outright. An infection is thereby prevented (if organisms are present, but infection has not yet begun), and the infection is cured if the infection already exists.07-21-2011
