20090044918 | METHOD OF LATCHING AN ACCORDIAN FOLDING PARTITION - A partition system is provided as well as an apparatus and method for securing movable partitions. In one embodiment, a movable partition, such as a folding door, includes a post member (e.g., a lead post) having a latching structure associated therewith. Another post member, such as associated with a wall or another movable partition, includes a latching structure configured to form a magnetic coupling with the first latching structure. One of the latching structures may be slidingly displaced relative to its associated post member so as to selectively bring the two latching members into or out of alignment with one another. When a magnetic coupling has been formed, relative displacement of the two latching structures results in the weakening, if not defeat, of the magnetic coupling so that the post members, and their associated partitions, may be displaced away from one another. Other latching structures are also disclosed. | 02-19-2009 |
20100257793 | MOVABLE PARTITIONS, PROTECTIVE CLIPS FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS, AND RELATED METHODS - Protective clips for movable partitions include a guard portion that protrudes from a top major surface of a base portion. The guard portion extends along the top major surface proximate to a front side of the base portion. The guard portion also may extend along the top major surface proximate to at least one end side surface a longitudinal end of the base portion. Movable partitions include one or more such protective clips. The protective clips optionally may be used to attach a sweep strip to panels of a movable partition. Methods of forming such protective clips include molding the clips within a mold cavity. | 10-14-2010 |
20110024061 | MOVABLE PARTITIONS, HEADER ASSEMBLIES FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS, AND METHODS OF FORMING HEADER ASSEMBLIES FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS - Movable partitions and movable partition system include a header assembly and a movable partition. The header assembly may comprise an elongated overhead track including a first channel, a second channel, and a central channel between the first and second channels. A plurality of support bracket attachment features may be included with at least one support bracket attachment feature on each of an outer surface of the first channel and an outer surface of the second channel. A support bracket may be coupled to each of the support bracket attachment features. The movable partition may comprise a plurality of panels connected to one another with hinge-like member and may be suspended from the overhead track. Embodiments of overhead tracks and methods of forming header assemblies are also disclosed. | 02-03-2011 |
20120055004 | METHODS OF FORMING PROTECTIVE CLIPS FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS AND METHODS OF INSTALLING PROTECTIVE CLIPS FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS - Protective clips for movable partitions include a guard portion that protrudes from a top major surface of a base portion. The guard portion extends along the top major surface proximate to a front side of the base portion. The guard portion also may extend along the top major surface proximate to at least one end side surface at a longitudinal end of the base portion. Movable partitions include one or more such protective clips. The protective clips optionally may be used to attach a sweep strip to panels of a movable partition. Methods of forming such protective clips include molding the clips within a mold cavity. | 03-08-2012 |
20120055638 | MOVABLE PARTITIONS AND PROTECTIVE CLIPS FOR MOVABLE PARTITIONS - Protective clips for movable partitions include a guard portion that protrudes from a top major surface of a base portion. 20120124923 | MOVABLE PARTITION SYSTEMS INCLUDING INTUMESCENT MATERIAL AND METHODS OF INSTALLING SUCH MOVABLE PARTITION SYSTEMS - Movable partition systems comprise a movable partition. A track may be configured to engage with the movable partition such that the movable partition is extendable along the track. A first mass of intumescent material may be positioned adjacent the track on a first side of a gap defined by the track. A second mass of intumescent material may be positioned adjacent the track on a second, opposing side of the gap defined by the track. At least one shroud may at least partially surround the track and may be configured to confine expansion of the first and second masses of intumescent material toward one another across the gap. An intumescent material may be sandwiched in a gap between a leading end of a lead post at a distal end of the movable partition and a cap at least partially surrounding the leading end to define the gap. | 05-24-2012 |
