20110004618Recognizing Domain Specific Entities in Search Queries - Disclosed is a computer implemented system and method of discerning an entity class from a query. A query is received and broken into query fragments comprised of terms. The terms of the query fragments are compared to terms belonging to one or more bag of words models with matches removed. The bag of words models to which the terms removed from the query fragments belong are remembered. The remaining n terms of the query fragments are processed to obtain query phrases containing 1-n grams from the query fragments. Each query phrase is submitted to a search engine. A sampling of snippets from the search results are extracted. Non stop words from the snippets are stemmed. A similarity score is computed for the stemmed snippet words with respect to each entity class bag of words model. Snippet entity classes are selected based on the bag of words models having the highest similarity score with the stemmed snippet words. The similarity scores of the selected snippet entity classes are consolidated to obtain a candidate list of entity classes to which the query phrase belongs based on the summed similarity scores for the snippet entity classes. The entity classes that exceed a predetermined threshold are selected as the entity classes to which the query phrase belongs. The remembered bag of words models to which the terms removed from the query fragments belong are used to choose the context sensitive entity classes to which the query phrase belongs.01-06-2011

20140149668PREFETCHING ACCORDING TO ATTRIBUTES OF ACCESS REQUESTS - Attributes of access requests can be used to distinguish one set of access requests from another set of access requests. The prefetcher can determine a pattern for each set of access requests and then prefetch cache lines accordingly. In an embodiment in which there are multiple caches, a prefetcher can determine a destination for prefetched cache lines associated with a respective set of access requests. For example, the prefetcher can prefetch one set of cache lines into one cache, and another set of cache lines into another cache. Also, the prefetcher can determine a prefetch distance for each set of access requests. For example, the prefetch distances for the sets of access requests can be different.05-29-2014
20140149678USING CACHE HIT INFORMATION TO MANAGE PREFETCHES - Cache hit information is used to manage (e.g., cap) the prefetch distance for a cache. In an embodiment in which there is a first cache and a second cache, where the second cache (e.g., a level two cache) has greater latency than the first cache (e.g., a level one cache), a prefetcher prefetches cache lines to the second cache and is configured to receive feedback from that cache. The feedback indicates whether an access request issued in response to a cache miss in the first cache results in a cache hit in the second cache. The prefetch distance for the second cache is determined according to the feedback.05-29-2014
20140149679PAGE CROSSING PREFETCHES - Prefetching is permitted to cross from one physical memory page to another. More specifically, if a stream of access requests contains virtual addresses that map to more than one physical memory page, then prefetching can continue from a first physical memory page to a second physical memory page. The prefetching advantageously continues to the second physical memory page based on the confidence level and prefetch distance established while the first physical memory page was the target of the access requests.05-29-2014
20140181404INFORMATION COHERENCY MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS AND METHODS - Systems and methods for coherency maintenance are presented. The systems and methods include utilization of multiple information state tracking approaches or protocols at different memory or storage levels. In one embodiment, a first coherency maintenance approach (e.g., similar to a MESI protocol, etc.) can be implemented at one storage level while a second coherency maintenance approach (e.g., similar to a MOESI protocol, etc.) can be implemented at another storage level. Information at a particular storage level or tier can be tracked by a set of local state indications and a set of essence state indications. The essence state indication can be tracked “externally” from a storage layer or tier directory (e.g., in a directory of another cache level, in a hub between cache levels, etc.). One storage level can control operations based upon the local state indications and another storage level can control operations based in least in part upon an essence state indication.06-26-2014

20140362830ENHANCING JITTER BUFFER PERFORMANCE THROUGH RADIO LEVEL FEEDBACK - A jitter buffer in a Voice over LTE receiver may be influenced by radio level feedback (RLF) from both local and remote endpoints to preemptively adjust the jitter buffer delay in anticipation of predicted future losses that have a high probability of occurring. The radio events of the RLF and the scenarios that trigger the preemptive adjustments may be identified, and their use may be expressed in terms of mathematical formulas. In prior art designs, the instantaneous jitter is derived from a weighted history of the media stream, and consequently only packets that have already arrived are used to compute the instantaneous jitter to adjust the length of the buffer. By providing and using RLF from both local and remote endpoints, the anticipated delay—for packets that have not yet arrived—may be used to preemptively adjust the buffer, thereby minimizing packet loss without introducing unnecessary delay.12-11-2014

20150289286APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR NETWORK ASSISTED HYBRID NETWORK OPERATION - Methods and apparatus for minimizing scheduling collisions between networks. In one embodiment, the networks are substantially unsynchronized, and during hybrid network operation (e.g., LTE and CDMA 1X operation), a mobile device can place CDMA 1X voice calls while registered with the LTE network.
