20110087171 | METHOD AND APPARATUS TO SECURE LIFE SUPPORT LINES TO AN INFANT DURING NEONATAL CARE - This invention is directed to a method for affixing an apparatus to a parent to allow skin-to-skin contact with an infant connected to medical tubing. The method includes placement of medical tubes and/or sensors into a two-part clip on the apparatus having a first clip portion and a corresponding second clip portion—both connected through a spring action hinge. A locking means on the first clip portion next affixes to the second clip portion to ensure the medical tubing does not become dislodged. After ensuring there are no kinks or bends in the medical tubing, a fastening means (for example, a flat panel with an adhesive layer) attached to the apparatus is positioned proximate to the parent's chest (or article of clothing) and then affixed. A rotating means (between the two-part clip and fastening means) can be used to rotate the apparatus to ensure the comfort of the neonatal infant. | 04-14-2011 |

20110082433 | ABSORBENCY PAD FOR USE IN NEONATAL CARE AND RELATED METHOD OF USE - The invention is directed to a planar pad manufactured from three bonded layers each having different properties and materials. This includes a contact layer having a first and corresponding second portion. The second portion overlaps the first portion sufficient to create a first overlay. Such contact layer may be made of fibers which include silver nano-particulates. The contact layer may also include a coating made of TEFLON or similar material. The second layer is an absorbency layer positioned immediately below the contact layer. The absorbency layer being made of natural woven bamboo fiber. In addition, the absorbency layer may be two-part construction having a first absorbent portion and a corresponding second absorbent portion which abuts the first absorbent portion, wherein both absorbent portions have fused sides to reduce fraying. The third layer is a waterproof barrier layer which is posited directly below the absorbency layer, preferably constructed of TYVEK. | 04-07-2011 |

20090104214 | Synthetic peptides containing the motif "YWWLXP" as anthrax toxin antidotes - Specific inhibitors, in Multiple Antigen Peptide form, which inhibit the interaction between protective antigen and lethal factor and neutralize anthrax toxin in vivo. Anti protective antigen peptides were selected from a phage library by competitive panning with lethal factor. Selected 12mer peptides were synthesized in tetra-branched form and systematically modified to achieve peptides with higher affinity and inhibitory efficiency. | 04-23-2009 |

20090255703 | Lift cover and gasket assembly - An electrical box assembly includes a cover assembly, a gasket and an electrical box coupled together by mounting screws. The cover includes a base with a plurality of screw holes for receiving the mounting screws. A support member having an axial passage extends from the bottom face of the cover around each of the screw holes. The gasket includes a cylindrical shaped sleeve that passes through the support member and has an axial length to extend from the screw hole in the cover. The mounting screws are inserted through the axial passage of the sleeve and the screw holes in the cover to axially compress the sleeve to form a watertight seal between the screw shaft and the support member. | 10-15-2009 |
20090258522 | Weather resistant electrical connector - An electrical connector is provided including a housing supporting an electrical device and for receiving an electrical cord or cable. A cap having internal threads and an axial passage for receiving the electrical cord and clamping the electrical cord to the housing to form a waterproof connection. The cap includes a conical shaped seal member for forming a waterproof seal with the outer surface of the electrical cord. A conical shaped bushing is received in a frustoconical shaped bore of the housing and is axially and radially compressed by the threaded cap onto the housing. The bushing has an axial bore for receiving the electrical cable and an outer surface with at least one annular recess to facilitate the axial and radial compression of the bushing. The bottom end of the cap has a chamfered edge which mates with a frustoconical shaped outer surface of the housing to form a waterproof seal. | 10-15-2009 |
