20090300019HIERARCHICAL ITEM LEVEL ENTITLEMENT - A method for retrieving data from a database. The method includes receiving a query for the data in the database, determining a user associated with the query, and obtaining an entitlement entry associated with the user, the entitlement entry created by applying an entitlement rule associated with the user to a chasing rule. The method further includes determining, using a processor, an entitlement predicate for a data view query using the entitlement entry, the data view query including the entitlement predicate and associated with the query. The method further includes executing, on the processor, the data view query to obtain the data in the database, the user being entitled to view the data presenting the data to the user.12-03-2009

20090154773METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING THE COST OF SAMPLING A MOVING IMAGE - An energy-efficient and cost-reducing method and system to enable the successful sampling of a moving image are disclosed. The method and system use movement detection and analysis within a feedback loop to control subsequent sensor movement/lighting/radiation for control of future sampling of the image.06-18-2009
20090248839USING A PROXY TO REDIRECT DOWNLOADS - One aspect of the present invention provides a system configured to enable a proxy to redirect downloads from a web server to one or more remote machines via a command issued from a local computer web browser. In one embodiment, a user accesses the web server with a web browser on a local computer, and uses the web browser to initiate the download from the web server. Connection and authentication information for the download is sent to a router/proxy which is connected to both the local machine and the one or more remote machines. The router/proxy redirects the download to a process running on the one or more remote machines, where the download is then saved. The web browser on the local computer is then notified when the download is complete.10-01-2009
20090248902Command Line Completion Using Invoked Command - A method for command line completion comprises receiving a command line completion request from a user comprising a command, a flag and a partial input, executing the command using the flag and passing the partial input to the command, receiving an output from the command comprising valid completions of the partial input or an indication that no valid completions correspond to the partial input, and presenting to the user the valid completions or an indication that no valid completions correspond to the partial input.10-01-2009
20140071036INVOKING A USER ENVIRONMENT BASED ON DEVICE COVER - A device cover includes a device cover identifier. A computing device includes a device cover identifier reader for reading the device cover identifier, and the computing device invokes a user environment associated with the device cover identifier. The user environment can include an arrangement of home screen program icons, executing application programs, computing device notification settings, device or application usernames and passwords, brightness levels, or display screen wallpaper. The device cover identifier can include one or more magnets, an RFID tag, color, intensity, or polarity of light passing through the cover, or textual or graphical information on the cover.03-13-2014

20090113398MANAGING THE TRACING OF THE EXECUTION OF A COMPUTER PROGRAM - A method and system for the management of tracing data of interest in a data processing system comprises identifying the location and length of one or more such units of interest as each unit is stored in main memory during execution of the program and recording a logical assignment of each unit of interest to a slot in a wrap around trace buffer. Copying of the units of interest to the trace buffer is deferred unless one or more predefined events occur. Such events may include an attempt to overwrite the data which has been logically assigned or a request for information stored in the trace buffer. The recorded assignments are discarded whenever it is calculated that the capacity of the trace buffer would be exceeded resulting in the corresponding units never needing to be copied to the trace buffer.04-30-2009
20100095308MANAGING QUEUES IN AN ASYNCHRONOUS MESSAGING SYSTEM - Managing an asynchronous messaging queue with a client computer in an asynchronous messaging system, where the client computer is programmed to store an manage the asynchronous messaging queue, includes receiving a reactive message in the asynchronous messaging queue, the reactive message including an identification of a referenced message and an action to be performed on the referenced message; and performing the action on the previously initiated message with the client computer if the referenced message is present in the asynchronous messaging queue.04-15-2010
20120272248MANAGING QUEUES IN AN ASYNCHRONOUS MESSAGING SYSTEM - A method of managing an asynchronous messaging queue with a client computer in an asynchronous messaging system, where the client computer is programmed to store an manage the asynchronous messaging queue, includes receiving a reactive message in the asynchronous messaging queue, the reactive message including an identification of a previously initiated message and an action to be performed on the previously initiated message; and upon determining that the previously initiated message has already been received in the asynchronous messaging queue, performing the action on the previously initiated message with the client computer.10-25-2012
