20090030998 | CONTACT SIDEBAR TILE - Methods, systems, and computer program products for tracking real-time communication data within a single contact tracking application for diverse communication providers and applications. A global data store is synchronized with real-time communication data, such as presence, status, unread messages, and unread notifications, from each application/provider. Real-time communication data for contacts dynamically determined to be recent contacts is retrieved from the data store, based on properties such as a most recent communication time, a communication count, and the like. Real-time communication data corresponding to contacts identified as pinned contacts for which display of real-time communication data is preferred, also may be retrieved. A user interface is generated for displaying the one or more recent and/or pinned contacts, which may vary in size based on the number of contacts identified as pinned contacts, from which a contact may be selected for real-time conversation or e-mail. | 01-29-2009 |

20080222710 | SIMPLIFIED ELECTRONIC MESSAGING SYSTEM - A simplified messaging system is provided. In various embodiments, the simplified messaging system receives a selection of an image representing an identification for a user that the user previously provided, receives a selection of multiple images representing a password for the user that the user previously selected, and logs the user into an electronic messaging system based on the selected images. In various embodiments, the simplified messaging system comprises a mail transport server that receives and forwards electronic messages, a mail registration server comprising an images component that stores images associated with user identifications and user passwords, and a mail client that receives a selection of an image identifying a user and multiple images associated with a password of the user, and logs the user into an electronic messaging system when the images are selected. | 09-11-2008 |
20080281578 | DOCUMENT TRANSLATION SYSTEM - A document translation system is described. In various embodiments, the document translation system improves translations of text or speech (“documents”) that are performed by computing devices (“machine translations”). Upon translating a document into a target language, the system can provide a user interface containing both the original document and a translated document. The translated document can include portions that are translated automatically by a machine translation service, and other portions that have been amended or modified by users. Upon providing the translated document, the system may receive input from a user describing portions of the translated document that should be modified. These modifications may then be stored in corpora that the document translation system can employ during future requests to translate the document. When multiple modifications are stored, the system may select one of the stored modifications during translation, such as based on the document type, reputation of the user who provided the modification, and so forth. The stored corpora can then be employed to improve future machine translations. | 11-13-2008 |
