The process according to the invention enables particularly favourable preparation of allyl methacrylate with a very high purity.07-22-2010
20150072437Device and Method for Calorimetrically Measuring Sorption Processes - The aim of the invention is to provide a commercially usable and inexpensive device and method with which a sorption enthalpy can be measured in a simple manner. This is achieved by a device for calorimetrically measuring sorption processes, comprising a sorption cell for receiving a sample, the sorption cell having a volume for filling with a sorption gas, and comprising a reference cell likewise for filing with the sorption gas. A measurement gas volume is arranged around the sorption cell for receiving a reference gas, and the reference cell is surrounded by a reference gas volume, which is likewise provided for receiving the reference gas. A gas connection is provided between the sorption cell and the reference cell in order to conduct sorption gas into the sorption cell and the reference cell such that a sorption reaction occurs with the sample in the sorption cell. Furthermore, a device is provided for measuring pressure differences between the measurement gas volume and the reference gas volume in order to carry out a calorimetric measurement of the sorption process on the sample in the sorption cell on the basis of a volume change of the reference gas in the measurement gas volume.03-12-2015

20090162807ORTHODONTIC BRACKET WITH ROTARY LIGATING COVER - The present invention provides designs for a self-ligating orthodontic bracket. According to one embodiment, the self-ligating orthodontic bracket includes a mounting base for attachment to a tooth surface, an archwire slot formed upon the base and sized for receiving an orthodontic archwire, a rotary ligating cover selectively rotatable between an open position permitting access to the archwire slot and a closed position covering the archwire slot, and one or more locking features for holding the rotary ligating cover in a closed position. In one embodiment, the bracket includes one or more locking tabs on the rotary ligating cover aligned in coplanar relation to the rotary ligating cover and cooperatively mating with cutout portions in the base. In one embodiment, the bracket includes at least one resilient retention mechanism adjacent to the one or more locking tabs and aligned in coplanar relation to the rotary ligating cover. The resilient retention mechanism may include one or more relief channels permitting flexing of at least portions of the rotary ligating cover adjacent to the one or more locking tabs.06-25-2009
20110039225CONVERTIBLE BUCCAL TUBE ORTHODONTIC BRACKET - An orthodontic bracket having a base attachable to a tooth surface, with the base extending outward away from the tooth surface and forming an archwire slot sized to receive an archwire therewithin, and a removable archwire slot cover coined onto the base so as to cover the archwire slot and enable the bracket to function as a buccal tube when the cover is attached. The cover may be removed from the bracket base without removal of the bracket from the tooth surface so as to provide an open archwire slot for continued orthodontic treatment subsequent to removal of the removable archwire slot cover.02-17-2011
20110294088Tool for orthodontic appliance - An orthodontic tool for an orthodontic appliance includes a handle and at least one distal end having a finger. The finger has a manipulator, which may include a pin or a plurality of pins, and a probe for engaging a rotary archwire cover. Using the tool, the orthodontist may open and close the archwire cover, which is rotationally mounted to an orthodontic bracket.12-01-2011
20120122050Orthodontic Bracket - An orthodontic bracket mountable on a tooth for use in retraction mechanics to facilitate movement of teeth along an arch, which includes an archwire-receiving member rotatably mounted on a base and structured to freely rotate when tipping a tooth during sliding of the bracket along an archwire thereby minimizing friction between the archwire and bracket to significantly decrease the required retraction force, and treatment time, thereby minimizing the possibility of root resorption and maintaining the integrity of the root and surrounding bone. A locking pin for locking the member against rotation is employed when uprighting the tooth from a tipped position.05-17-2012
20120273371Packaging for Orthodontic Appliances - A package for a set of orthodontic appliances includes a tray having a plurality of open pockets in which each pocket is sized and shaped to receive a selected orthodontic bracket according to its shape and dimensions such that each bracket is held snugly therein. The tray includes a tab at one end adapted to be grasped between a user's thumb and forefinger, and a cover is provided which is adapted for slideable engagement with the tray for covering the open pockets.11-01-2012
20120276496Rotating Orthodontic Bracket with Locking Mechanism - An orthodontic bracket mountable on a tooth for use in retraction mechanics to facilitate movement of teeth along an arch, which includes an archwire-receiving member rotatably mounted on a base and structured to freely rotate when tipping a tooth during sliding of the bracket along an archwire thereby minimizing friction between the archwire and bracket to significantly decrease the required retraction force, and treatment time, thereby minimizing the possibility of root resorption and maintaining the integrity of the root and surrounding bone. A locking mechanism for locking the member against rotation is employed when uprighting the tooth from a tipped position.11-01-2012

20130252194Orthodontic Applicance with Radiused Wire Slot - A set of orthodontic brackets is provided in combination with an archwire extending over an arc when fitted to the set of orthodontic brackets. The archwire has at least one radius of curvature over the length of its arc, and each one of said brackets in the set has an archwire slot. Each slot has at least one surface supporting the archwire which is contoured to have a radius of curvature that matches the radius of curvature along the arc of the archwire at that point. A round archwire is preferred and the archwire slots may be formed as tubular channels to provide better torque action for the archwire.09-26-2013
20140141383Self-ligating Bracket with Sliding Cover - A self-ligating orthodontic bracket has a sliding archwire cover that has a top surface congruent with the top surface of an upper body portion having an archwire slot. The cover has a resilient locking tab that slides across the slot, bending upward as it encounters a ridge on the other side of the slot, and latching to the ridge to secure the cover in a closed position. The cover has a modified dovetail shape with flared bottom portions that slideably engage guides for reciprocal opening and closing sliding motion. A groove in the slide support track engages the locking tab in the open position preventing it from disengaging from the upper body portion.05-22-2014
20140141384Self-ligating Orthodontic Appliance with Sliding Cover - A self-ligating orthodontic bracket has a sliding archwire cover that has a top surface congruent with the top surface of an upper body portion having an archwire slot. The cover has a resilient locking tab that slides across the slot, bending upward as it encounters a latch and mating with the latch as it restores to secure the cover in a closed position. The cover has a modified dovetail shape with flared bottom portions that slideably engage guides for reciprocal opening and closing sliding motion.05-22-2014

20120284239METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPTIMIZING DATA STORAGE - Embodiments of the invention relate to evaluation and storage of data in a computer system configured with a shared pool of resources. A multi-level adaptive compression technique is employed to minimize the cost of data storage based upon the type of data being stored and their access pattern. The costs of data storage include capacity, bandwidth, and compute cycles. Data is transformed local to a client in communication with the shared pool, local to the shared pool, or as a combination with a partial transformation local to the client and a partial transformation local to the shared pool.11-08-2012

20090055595ADJUSTING PARAMETERS USED TO PREFETCH DATA FROM STORAGE INTO CACHE - Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture for adjusting parameters used to prefetch data from storage into cache. Data units are added from a storage to a cache, wherein requested data from the storage is returned from the cache. A degree of prefetch is processed indicating a number of data units to prefetch into the cache. A trigger distance is processed indicating a prefetched trigger data unit in the cache. The number of data units indicated by the degree of prefetch is prefetched in response to processing the trigger data unit. The degree of prefetch and the trigger distance are adjusted based on a rate at which data units are accessed from the cache.02-26-2009
