20130034303 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ON-TOP WRITING - A handwriting recognition apparatus facilitates user entry of strokes one on top of another. The apparatus, which includes a processor and a display integrated with a touch sensitive screen, receives a series of strokes via the screen. Each stroke is defined by contact, trace, and lift occurrences. Each stroke appears on the display until occurrence of a prescribed event, and then disappears. The apparatus accumulates strokes into a buffer and interprets all accumulated strokes collectively against a character database and optionally a linguistic database, to identify multiple candidate strings that could be represented by the accumulated strokes. The apparatus displays candidate strings for user selection after all strokes have faded, or after receiving a user submitted delimiter, or after a given delay has elapsed following user entry of the latest stroke. Alternatively, candidate strings are displayed after each stroke without waiting for timeout or explicit delimiter. | 02-07-2013 |

20130278321 | Method and Apparatus for Mixer-Based Harmonic Rejection - In one aspect, the present invention exploits the termination conductances of a time-discrete harmonic mixer as another degree of freedom in configuring the mixer to meet given harmonic rejection performance requirements while using reduced number of unit cells. The values of these termination conductances are purposefully configured to introduce a desired non-linearity in quantization of the mixer transconductance by the unit cells. The non-uniform quantization produces a non-linear fitting of the transconductance levels to the transconductance points defining the target sinusoidal waveform. As a consequence of its termination conductance configuration, the contemplated mixer achieves levels of harmonic rejection with that would not be met if the reduced number of unit cells operated with uniform quantization. As a further advantage, the manipulated conductance values generally are lower than those used in conventional designs, e.g., on par with the maximum conductance of the mixer, as provided by mixer's set of unit cells. | 10-24-2013 |

20140258896 | METHOD FOR POSITIONING OF CONTROL ELEMENTS WITHIN GUI - The present invention relates to a method for positioning of control elements within a graphical user interface (GUI) of a control unit, the method comprising the steps of determining a plurality of functions, represented by a corresponding plurality of control elements, of a first electronic device to be controlled, positioning the plurality of control elements for the first electronic device at predefined positions within the GUI by rating the related functionality of each of the plurality of functions by comparing the rating with a predetermined priority definition of different positions within the GUI, and displaying the GUI Advantages with the invention comprises the possibility to dynamically and on-the-fly position control elements, e.g. buttons presented in GUI, based on a matching between rating of the functionality corresponding to the control elements and a rating of different positions within the GUI. | 09-11-2014 |
