20090031548 | STRUCTURE FABRICATION METHOD - In a structure fabrication method for fabricating a structure including an inclined part inclined to a principal plane of a substrate by plastically deforming a work piece having the substrate with the principal plane, the structure fabrication method includes the steps of providing in the work piece a projection configured to protrude from a first surface and away from the principal plane of the substrate; and bending the work piece toward a second surface opposite to the first surface. The bending is accomplished by applying a force on a block including an inclined pressure plane that is abutted on the projection for plastically deforming the work piece, in which in bending the work piece, the direction of a first force applied on the work piece intersects with the direction of a second force of the inclined pressure plane pushing the projection. | 02-05-2009 |
20090172938 | Cylinder head insert method & apparatus - A cylinder head modification method includes the steps of selecting a cylinder head for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of combustion chambers and the cylinder head having a plurality of combustion chamber faces on the top of each combustion chamber. An elongated cylinder head insert is selected having a generally T-shaped cross-section and then forming an elongated slot in the selected cylinder head between a pair of combustion chamber faces. The elongated slot is shaped to receive the elongated cylinder head insert therein. A method includes press fitting the elongated cylinder head insert into the elongated slot and the cylinder head to thereby reduce localized high temperature deformations in the cylinder head. The method includes the step of heating the cylinder head to expand the slot for pressure fitting the cylinder head insert thereinto. The cylinder head insert is then nailed to a predetermined height above the cylinder head face after the cylinder head insert has been press fitted into the cylinder head slot. The slot formed into the cylinder head may be formed between the center two adjacent cylinder head combustion chamber head faces or between each two adjacent cylinder head combustion chamber head faces. A selected cylinder head insert may have a generally T-shaped cross-section having a radius edge on the bottom of the T. | 07-09-2009 |
20100011559 | Retrofit Seals and Method for Placement in an Existing Groove - A seal is retrofit to an existing seal groove and made whole after being positioned in the groove. It can be an initial coil shape to allow it to slip over a shaft to get to the groove or it can be in a plurality of sections that are joined in place. The sections can be abutting or overlapping and are preferably coated with a brazing material that will ultimately join such ends. The ends can then have a nano-engineered coating that comprises alternating layers of aluminum and nickel that when initiated with applied heat becomes reactive exothermically to join the ends using the brazing material. | 01-21-2010 |
20100024194 | METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF SPACERS FOR A NUCLEAR REACTOR - A method for production of spacers to hold at least a number of elongated fuel rods ( | 02-04-2010 |
20100186214 | LIGHT FOR VEHICLES - An illuminated component for motor vehicles and the like includes a light source that may comprise one or more LEDs. A sheet of light-transmitting material has a first side surface that is coated with ink or other opaque material. Some of the opaque material is removed to form areas that may be illuminated by the light source. The opaque material may be removed utilizing a laser-engraving/etching process according to a specific pattern or design provided by a customer from a remote location. | 07-29-2010 |
20110185560 | METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN OBJECTIVE - Method for producing an objective, in which the outer mounting includes an outer surface that is, at least in sections, limited by a plane which extends inclined toward the optical axis or which extends at a distance from the optical axis. | 08-04-2011 |
20110271511 | GROUTLESS TILE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME - A method for making a groutless tile including: providing a durable surface; molding a substrate to receive at least a portion of the durable surface; affixing the durable surface to the substrate; and milling at least a portion of the substrate to create a first coupling member on an edge of the substrate and a second coupling member on a opposing edge of the substrate. | 11-10-2011 |
20130219685 | METHOD FOR ATTACHING A POROUS METAL LAYER TO A METAL SUBSTRATE - A method for attaching a porous metal layer to a dense metal substrate, wherein the method is particularly useful in forming orthopedic implants such as femoral knee components, femoral hip components, and/or acetabular cups. The method, in one embodiment thereof, comprises providing a solid metal substrate; providing a porous metal structure; contouring a surface of the porous metal structure; placing the porous structure against the substrate such that the contoured surface of the porous metal structure is disposed against the substrate, thereby forming an assembly; applying heat and pressure to the assembly in conjunction with thermal expansion of the substrate in order to metallurgically bond the porous structure and the substrate; and removing mass from the substrate after the porous structure is bonded to the substrate, thereby finish processing the assembly. | 08-29-2013 |
20130247353 | ADJUSTABLE PROSTHETIC INTERFACES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS - Prosthesis devices can include sockets having adjustable features. In one example, a socket includes one or more panels that can move outwardly or inwardly relative to a receptacle portion of the socket. The panels can be moved by tightening a tensioning line. | 09-26-2013 |
20140068917 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING METAL CLAD FACADE - An apparatus and method for a metal clad facade includes a thin metal cladding having at least one edge. The facade or the object with which it is associated has at least one edge around which the metal cladding edge can be wrapped. The wrapped edge could optionally be crimped. Optionally, exposed edges of the cladding could be covered by raised bosses or ribs on the facade. Optionally, a projection or extension of the cladding, oblique to other parts of the cladding, could extend into an opening in or near a surface of the facade or its underlying object. Wrapping of at least one edge with the metal cladding provides the appearance of a more substantial metal part than if the edge were not wrapped and provides for a more securement and durable attachment between the cladding and the underlying object. | 03-13-2014 |
20140157577 | Method for In situ multiple cable terminations - The method of attaching a pulling head to two or more wires or cables for installation in a conduit, comprising providing a first area for attaching the pulling head, placing two or more wire or cable supply spools on a first side of the first area, placing a receiving spool on the opposite or second side of the first area, feeding a portion of the wires or cables from the wire or cable supply spools onto the receiving spool, placing a terminating table in the first area below the wires or cables, cutting the wires or cables at staggered length from the receiving spool, stripping a portion of the covering from the wires or cables from the outer diameter of the two or more wires or cables, installing a connection onto each of the two or more wires or cables. | 06-12-2014 |
