20100166107 | Systems and Methods for Transmitter Diversity - Methods and systems for transmitter diversity expansion are provided. The methods and systems include steps and modules for applying a number of data streams (K) to a larger number of antennas (N). This is performed by applying each of the data streams to a single base antenna, such that K data streams are applied to K base antennas, and by shifting and combining the K data streams to produce N-K data streams to apply to N-K extension antennas. | 07-01-2010 |
20090185649 | Decision Directed Flicker Noise Cancellation - A decision directed flicker noise canceller for reducing flicker noise in a modulated input signal according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a decision circuit, a conversion circuit, first and second adders and a filter. The decision circuit provides signal decisions based on the input signal. The conversion circuit provides selected signal values based on the signal decisions. The first adder subtracts the selected signal values from signals based on the input signal to provide a flicker noise estimate. The filter receives and filters the flicker noise estimate and the second adder subtracts the filtered flicker noise estimate from the input signal and provides a corrected input signal. In a feedback configuration, the second adder is located in a feedback position before the decision circuit in the signal processing path. In a feed-forward configuration, the second adder is located in a feed-forward position after the decision circuit. | 07-23-2009 |
20090168737 | Transmission Using a Plurality of Protocols - Included are embodiments for communicating data using a plurality of formats. At least one embodiment of a method includes transmitting a plurality of first format data frames with a predetermined time period between transmitted first format data frames and determining a duration of the time period between the transmitted first format data frames. Similarly, some embodiments include fragmenting a second format data frame into a plurality of second format subframes such that the second format subframes may be transmitted during the time period between the transmitted first format data frames. | 07-02-2009 |
20090103542 | Efficiency Improvement For Shared Communications Networks - A technique for providing data unit concatenation in a shared communications network is disclosed. The technique establishes a distinction between a first address space and a second address space within one or more shared communications networks, such as a wireless local area network, in a telecommunications system. At a transmitter node, data units arriving from one or more source nodes are packaged together if they are intended a network accessible through a receiver and then are transmitted to the receiver node. During the transfer of data units across the telecommunications system, the addressing mechanism will use either source and destination nodes or transmitter and receiver nodes, depending on the address space relevant at the moment of transmission. The technique increases utilization efficiency, because overhead attributed to headers, acknowledgements and interframe gaps is reduced. | 04-23-2009 |
