20150145959 | Use of Spatially Structured Light for Dynamic Three Dimensional Reconstruction and Reality Augmentation - The disclosure relates to marker-less augmented reality methods which are operable in mobile applications and which involve an object-tracking method that uses projection and detection of a structured light pattern to track the location, orientation, and/or movement of an object in a scene. | 05-28-2015 |
20140364328 | Diagnostic Biomarker Profiles for the Detection and Diagnosis of Parkinsons Disease - The present invention provides methods, compositions and kits for the detection of Parkinson' disease (PD) diagnostic biomarkers, for the diagnosis of PD, for the identification of a subject at risk for developing PD, and for the generation of patient-specific PD diagnostic biomarker profiles. | 12-11-2014 |
20140315736 | DIAGNOSTIC BIOMARKER PROFILES FOR THE DETECTION AND DIAGNOSIS OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE - The present invention provides methods, compositions and kits for the detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnostic biomarkers, for the diagnosis of AD, for the identification of a subject at risk for developing AD, and for the generation of patient-specific AD diagnostic biomarker profiles. | 10-23-2014 |
20140056806 | Self-Assembling Biomimetic Hydrogels Having Bioadhesive Properties - The disclosure relates to a composition that is liquid at a temperature below the body temperature of a mammal and that solidifies at or above the body temperature of the mammal. The composition includes a thermally-desolubilizable polymer interspersed with a polymeric component of extracellular matrix and an encapsulated form of an amine compound (preferably an aminated component of extracellular matrix) that is de-encapsulated in the body of the mammal. The polymeric component is able to form covalent bonds with amine moieties in the aminated component, in one or more tissues in the body of the mammal, or both. Upon injection of a liquid suspension of these components into the body of the mammal, the thermally-desolubilizable polymer condenses, entrapping the polymeric component. The polymeric component binds covalently with a tissue in the body, and the aminated component end-caps the remaining reactive moieties of the polymeric component, forming a matrix at the site of injection. The disclosure also relates to uses of such compositions for forming a matrix on or within the body of a mammal. The compositions have a variety of uses, such as as bioadhesives, as sealants for ruptured tissues, as drug or imaging agent depots, or as mechanical cushions. | 02-27-2014 |
20130344123 | Use of Silver-Containing Layers at Implant Surfaces - The disclosure relates to coatings that contain silver, either in the form of metallic silver, silver oxides, salts of silver, or combinations of these. The silver is present in a microparticulate or nanoparticulate form, which exerts antimicrobial activity when bacteria (e.g., in a body fluid) contact the coated surface. The coatings are applied through accumulation of silver-containing particles on the surface, such as by sputtering or electron beam vapor deposition. As a result, their thickness, particle size, and density can be controlled. Furthermore, the surface can also be coated with other substances, such as diamond-like carbon or alumina, either as a discrete layer or intermixed with the silver-containing particles. | 12-26-2013 |
20130000919 | OIL WELL CONTROL SYSTEM - A system including a combined plug and valve device that may be precisely delivered to and inserted into an uncontrolled undersea oil well. Once positioned in the well, the device is operated in graduated fashion to anchor the plug to the well and gradually stanch the flow of oil from the well. | 01-03-2013 |
20110202888 | INFORMATION VISUALIZATION SYSTEM - A Web browsing and visualization system and method wherein: (i) Web data is retrieved and displayed in real-time (i.e., Web data is not pre-recorded), (ii) browsing and visualization are synchronized together in the same interface, (iii) a tree-based, rings-type visualization engine, (iv) space-efficient display of visualization, and (v) the amount of resources needed from the host computer is comparatively modest. In addition, the tree-based rings engine used to create the visualization displays the information in a smaller area than previous systems. Thus, the system requires less screen space to display the same amount of information as comparable systems. Alternatively, it can display more information to the user in the same amount of screen space as comparable systems. Moreover, although the present invention is disclosed herein in connection with visualizing Web data, it can be applied to portray any information hierarchy. | 08-18-2011 |
20100005857 | Interactive mobile aquatic probing and surveillance system - An Interactive Mobile Aquatic Probing and Surveillance system. The system includes a remote aquatic or amphibious agent which is controlled by a typically land-based computer host. The agent is a field robot in the form of a comparatively small and inexpensive, untethered, self-propelled, aquatic or amphibious, non-submersible vehicle that preferably carries physical and water characteristic sensors, as well as other operational equipment for use on relatively small bodies of water and wetlands. The host interacts with a human operator and provides control commands to and receives data from the agent in real time via a wireless communication between the agent and the host. The control commands include guidance commands including navigational and propulsion commands as well as commands for operating the sensors and various other equipment carried by the agent. | 01-14-2010 |
