20110217535 | SOLAR CONTROL GLAZING - A vehicle glazing comprises a pane of tinted glass, tinted by at least 1.0 to 1.8% wt. of total iron, having a low emissivity coating on its interior surface. The coating has an emissivity from 0.05 to 0.4 and may include a transparent conductive oxide (and optionally a dopant), or a metal layer and at least one dielectric layer. The glass is preferably toughened glass. According to another aspect, a laminated glazing includes two plies of glass, with a sheet of interlayer material laminated between the two glass plies, and wherein at least one ply of glass or the sheet of interlayer material is body tinted. The glazing has a low emissivity coating on its interior surface, the inner ply may be clear glass or tinted glass, and the interlayer material may be clear PVB or tinted PVB, and may further be infra-red reflecting. Either of the glazings may be used as a roof or other vehicle glazing. | 09-08-2011 |
20100179725 | INTERACTIVE VEHICLE GLAZING - A laminated vehicle glazing comprising: at least two glazing panes laminated together by at least one interlayer therebetween; at least one sensor which is manually operable by the presence of a user's hand contacting or proximal to at least one of the panes; at least one shield associated with the at least one sensor whereby the at least one sensor is manually operable by the presence of a user's hand from only one side of the vehicle glazing; and at least one connector electrically connected to the at least one sensor connectable to an external device for control of the external device by manual operation of the at least one sensor. | 07-15-2010 |
20090279004 | GLAZING - A laminated glazing comprises two plies of glass having an interlayer structure laminated therebetween. The interlayer structure comprises a first sheet of an interlayer material framing a liquid crystal film incorporated therein. Preferably, the interlayer material does not contain plasticizers, or contains a plasticizer which does not diffuse into the liquid crystal film structure. In addition, the interlayer material preferably resists the migration of mobile liquid crystal film components. | 11-12-2009 |
20090176101 | GLAZING - A laminated glazing comprises two plies of glass having an interlayer structure laminated therebetween. The interlayer structure comprises a first sheet of an interlayer material framing a suspended particle device film incorporated therein. The interlayer material is chosen to minimise the migration of the components of the interlayer material into the suspended particle device film. Preferably, the interlayer material does not contain plasticizers, or contains a plasticizer which does not diffuse into the suspended particle device film structure. | 07-09-2009 |
20090033123 | Vehicle Glazing - A vehicle glazing comprising a pane of body-tinted glazing material, which provides the glazing with a solar control and/or privacy function, having a capacitive moisture sensor mounted relative to it. The glazing material may be tinted glass. If the glazing is a laminate, the ply of interlayer material may be body-tinted additionally, or alternatively, to the two panes of glazing material being tinted. The sensor may include at least two sensing lines of conductive ink printed onto the glazing material. The sensing lines may additionally function as antenna and/or part of alarm circuitry and/or part of a heating element for defrosting/demisting the glazing. | 02-05-2009 |
