20150368954 | METHOD FOR OPERATING A BUILDING CLOSURE - A method for operating a building closure is disclosed. The building closure may be in the shape of a sectional door or a garage door. The position of the building closure and a motor current of a drive device is monitored by a control apparatus. When the building closure stands still, an electrical drive device arrests the building enclosure by providing an electrically conducting connection between winding of the drive device to ground. The position detection device continues to monitor a signal change such that in response to the signal change, the arresting is suspended and the electrical drive device is at least partially energized. | 12-24-2015 |
20150280618 | METHOD FOR OPERATING A BUILDING CLOSURE - A method for operating a building closure having the shape of an overhead sectional door or of a garage door including at least one spring-loaded counterweight device and an electrical drive device is disclosed. A control unit simultaneously monitors the position of the building closure and a motor current for the drive device. When the building closure is in an open or a closed position, the motor current is reduced and maintained at a level to residually energize the drive device to reliably maintain the building closure in a desired position. | 10-01-2015 |
20140331560 | PLATFORM SCREEN GATE SYSTEM - A platform screen gate system having a tower, a gate secured to the tower. The system further includes at least one roller secured to the tower and a track secured to the gate. The track is supported by and movable on the least one roller such that the door cantilevers from the tower and remains above the platform when the door is moved between the open and closed positions. | 11-13-2014 |
20140266589 | FACTORY PROGRAMMING OF PAIRED AUTHORIZATION CODES IN WIRELESS TRANSMITTER AND DOOR OPERATOR - Disclosed herein is a process for pairing one or more wireless transmitters with a power head unit of a barrier opening system prior to delivering the system to the end user. In one facility, an authorization code of a wireless transmitter is received and passed to a printer that prints an encoded label with indicia corresponding to the authorization code. The so-encoded label is affixed to the wireless transmitter or its packaging or pallet. In another facility, the encoded label is thereafter scanned, and the authorization code is deciphered and stored in a database. The power head is programmed with the identical code by placing the power head into a learn mode, retrieving the deciphered authorization code from the database, and transmitting the retrieved code to the power head using a test transmitter while the power head is in the learn mode, with the power head thereafter moved out of the learn mode, thereby pairing the transmitter with the power head. The so-programmed power head and wireless transmitter are then packaged for sale and distribution to the end user of the barrier opening system. | 09-18-2014 |

The second unit is generally affixed to the sliding door and the first unit is fixedly mounted with a sliding door guide system or to a header/footer or frame. A third unit may be included with the assembly such that when the sliding door panel is positioned in the open arrangement, the third unit limits engagement between the first and second units. In addition, the third unit is positioned to limit linear movement of a slideable portion of the first unit thereby preventing damage. | 01-24-2013 |
20130019432 | SELF-CLOSING SLIDING DOOR ASSEMBLY - Disclosed is a self-closing sliding door assembly operable to allow manual opening and controlled automatic closing of a sliding door. The door assembly comprises storage spools for storing biasing members biased in a wound position around the storage spools. The door assembly further comprises a main spool for winding a cable and the biasing members. When the door is moved towards an open position, the cable is unwound from the main spool, causing the spool to rotate in a first direction. When the main spool is rotated in the first direction, the biasing members are wound onto the main spool and store energy operable to generate a force to cause the main spool to rotate in a second direction. When the door is released, the energy stored in the biasing members rotates the main spool in the second direction, thereby winding the door cable and providing a sufficient force to move the door towards the closed position. | 01-24-2013 |
