20110298165 | Addition of (A) Blocking Agent(s) in a Ceramic Membrane for Blocking Crystalline Growth of Grains During Atmospheric Sintering - A composite material (M) comprising: at least 75% by volume of a mixed electronic conductor compound oxygen anions O<2->(C1) selected from doped ceramic compounds which, at the temperature of use, are present in the form of a crystalline network having ion oxide lattice vacancies and, more particularly, in the form of a cubic phase, a fluorite phase, a perovskite phase, of the aurivillius variety, a Brown-Millerite phase or a pyrochlore phase; and 0.01%-25% by volume of a compound (C2) which is different from compound (C1), selected from oxide-type ceramic materials, non-oxide type ceramic materials, metals, metal alloys or mixtures of said different types of material; and 0%-2.5% by volume of a compound (C3) produced from at least one chemical reaction represented by the equation: xFC1+yFC2----->zFC3, wherein FC1, FC2 and FC3 represent the raw formulae of compounds (C1), (C2) and (C3) and x, y and z represent rational numbers above or equal to 0. The invention also relates to a method for the preparation and use thereof as mixed conductor material for a membrane catalytic reactor used to synthesize synthetic gas by catalytic oxidation of methane or natural gas and/or as mixed conductor material for a ceramic membrane. | 12-08-2011 |
20100155405 | Fluid Flow Control Cock Fitted with a Lever Having Several Stable Positions - A valve is provided to control the flow of a pressurized fluid, in particular a medical or industrial gas. The inventive valve consists of a body with an internal fluid distribution circuit, within this internal fluid distribution circuit are a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a internal fluid passage that connects them. There is a means for controlling the fluid flow that can prevent the circulation of a fluid in this passage, and a handling means utilizing a pivoting lever that can be manually actuated by an operator. This lever pivots around a pivot point and can move between at least three stable positions that are angularly staggered in relation to each other. In the rest position, this lever is fixed and solidly connected to the body of the valve, and there is zero fluid flow in the internal fluid passage. In the intermediary released position, the axis of the lever is disposed at a positive, non-zero angle in relation to the axis of the lever in the rest position, the lever being now disconnected from the body, but the fluid flow remains zero. In the active position, the axis of the lever is disposed at a positive non-zero angle in relation to the axis of the lever in the intermediary released position, this lever being disconnected from the body, and with fluid now flowing thorough the internal fluid passage at a non-zero rate. This invention also relates to a gas cylinder equipped with one such valve. | 06-24-2010 |
20100062610 | METHOD OF REGULATING THE TITRATION OF A SOLUTION, DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING SAID REGULATION AND SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH A DEVICE - Method for regulating the titration of a solution, in which a predetermined amount of a product contained in the solution is added to the solution according to a time interval, called the addition interval, which is proportional to the product of the time degradation coefficient D of the product in solution and the total volume Vt of the solution at the time of the addition. | 03-11-2010 |
20090178557 | Novel Polyimide Based Mixed Matrix Composite Membranes - A polyimide MMC membrane useful for the production of oxygen-enriched air or nitrogen-enriched-air, for the separation of carbon dioxide from hydrocarbons or nitrogen, and the separation of helium or hydrogen from various streams. Membranes of polyimide polymers, such as polyimide polymers sold under the tradename P-84, are mixed with molecular sieve materials, such as SSZ-13, to make MMC membranes. The MMC membranes of the invention provide improved membrane performance compared to polymer only membranes, particularly when used to form asymmetric film membranes or hollow fiber membranes. The MMC films exhibit consistent permeation performance as dense film or asymmetric membranes, and do not interact with components of the process streams, such as organic solvents. The membranes of the invention exhibit particularly surprisingly good selectivity for the fluids of interest. | 07-16-2009 |
20090078001 | Cryogenic Distillation Method and System for Air Separation - Methods and apparatus for air separation by cryogenic distillation in a double or triple air separation column. The column in the system with the highest operating pressure is said to be operating at medium pressure. All the air to be distilled is pressurized to a high pressure, which is about 5 bar greater than the medium pressure. The air is purified at this high pressure, and a portion of the purified air is cooled in a heat exchange line, while another portion is expanded in a turbine. Part of the cooled air is drawn from the exchange line with a cold booster, which is mechanically coupled to at least one turbine. An energy dissipation device is also provided which is coupled to the turbine not coupled to the cold booster. The energy dissipation device is either another booster, an oil break system, or an electrical generator. | 03-26-2009 |
