|FIN DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM - A projectile having a fin deployment system disposed about its circumference. The fins are initially contained by a fin cover that is removed by aerodynamic force. The fins are then rotated around a rotational axis parallel to and offset from the central axial axis of the projectile body by the centrifugal forces created by the rotation of the projectile as the projectile passes through a barrel of a gun system or tube launcher. The fin deployment system can also have locking systems that lock the fins in the deployed position and prevent the fins from rotating back into the retracted position after deployment.||04-07-2016
|BUOYANT ARMOR APPLIQUE SYSTEM - An armor appliqué system for supplementing the integrated armor of an amphibious vehicle without increasing the effective weight of the vehicle in water. A plurality of armored modules individually are affixed to the hull of an amphibious vehicle, each module having an armor element and a buoyant element sized to offset at least the weight of the armor element when the module is submerged in water. The modules can be arranged to align with the armor elements of neighboring modules and create a nearly continuous armor layer over a layer of buoyant elements and the hull. The modules can be provided in a plurality of different shapes and sizes such that the armor layer can be customized approximate to shape and size of the portion of the hull to prove protected.||05-22-2014
|ADAPTIVE GUNNER PROTECTION KIT - A gunner protection system for positioning armored panels around a hatch opening and a mounted weapon or equipment system. The armored panels are arranged to create an armored envelope surrounding the vehicle hatch and defining an opening through which the weapon or equipment system can be operated. The armored panels can be individually raised to define a portion of the armored envelope or lowered to change the geometry of the armored envelope or opening according to the particular weapon or equipment system. Similarly, all of the armored panels can be lowered to collapse the armorer envelope to allow for efficient transport of the vehicle with the gunner protection system attached to the vehicle.||03-27-2014
|RETRACTABLE TRIM VANE FOR AMPHIBIOUS VEHICLE - A trim vane assembly for amphibious armored vehicles and having a trim vane movable along a generally horizontal path between a deployed position in which the trim vane extends rearward from the vehicle and a stowed position in which the trim vane is positioned beneath the amphibious vehicle. In the retracted position, the trim vane movable is flush against or received within the vehicle bottom such that the trim vane supplements the belly armor. Similarly, the trim vane extends from or overlaps with the bottom of the vehicle when extended into the deployed position to provide continuous bottom face of the vehicle extending from the front of the vehicle to the end of the trim vane. Conventional trim vanes are rotated between a vertical orientation against the rear of the vehicle and a horizontal position extending from the rear of the vehicle reducing viscous drag.||08-01-2013
|VEHICLE EMERGENCY EGRESS ASSEMBLY - A vehicle emergency egress system includes a transparent armor assembly disposable in a vehicle window frame, the transparent armor assembly including at least one transparent armor pane, and interiorly accessible release means, the release means being selectively operable by a vehicle occupant for effecting release of at least the one of the transparent armor panes, such release permitting shifting a respective one of the at least one transparent armor panes from the transparent armor assembly to define an egress portal. A method of forming a vehicle emergency egress system is further included.||02-09-2012
|ADAPTABLE BEAM LIFTER ELEMENT (ABLE) SYSTEM - The present invention is an Adaptable Beam Lifter Element (ABLE) system for use in lifting and moving an assortment of military vehicles and containers in transit and storage. An ABLE device is generally a structure having a low-profile frame that contains hydraulic lift, maneuvering, and drive features that may readily be placed beneath or around vehicles or containers for desired movement in a confined space. By using ABLE devices, transported vehicles placed on ships or in other confined locations can be stowed very close together, while allowing vehicles to be retrieved easily and efficiently, without dedicating a vast amount of space for maneuvering. In some embodiments, multiple ABLEs may be ganged and slaved logically together to form a system to cooperatively lift and transport a variety of vehicles and containers including many types of military equipment.||09-17-2009
