20160090753 | INTEGRATED LOCK BODY SYSTEM FOR SECURING ACCESS POINTS - An integrated lock body system for securing access points. An electronic door lock has a lock body, at least one electrical component within the lock to be monitored, and at least one output for connection to an external unit located remotely from the electronic door lock for monitoring load resistance between the external unit and the electronic door lock. A circuit is mounted adjacent to or within the electronic lock body. The circuit includes an electrical connection to the at least one electrical component within the electronic door lock and an external electrical output for connection to the external unit. The circuit further includes at least one resistor between the electrical connection to the at least one electrical component within the electronic door lock and the external electrical output, the at least one resistor imparting a desired load resistance capable of being monitored by the external unit. | 03-31-2016 |
20140239651 | ANTI-LIGATIVE DOORKNOB - An anti-ligative ergonomic type door-knob primarily of the institutional type, essentially serving to defeat the effort of a temporarily mentally-depressed room occupant from succeeding in committing self-hanging via contrived ensnaring by which to secure a cord like hanging-noose. Generic-variant embodiments of my anti-ligative doorknob are set forth, including both a circular and semi-circular escutcheon-plate for I-shaped V-shaped Y-shaped X-shaped fin-levers, and also a non-finned hemispherical iteration. The novel critical minimum approximate 40-degree anti-ligative principle of my LIFESTARâ„¢ doorknobs reliably prevents a person ensnaring any heretofore problematically hazardous to portion of the door-knob assembly, while my optionally cooperating door latchbolt is formed to a matching critical minimum approximate 40-degree anti-ligative tri-beveled latchbolt as well. Further suicide-deterrence is achieved by effectively submerging the doorknob into the door escutcheon-plate, thereby leaving virtually no declivity by which a suicidal-person can secure any manner of self-inflicted hanging-cord. | 08-28-2014 |
20140059937 | EXIT DEVICE MOUNT WITH CLOSED TERMINATION - An exit device includes a rail having opposite first and second ends and a rear portion with a first opening adjacent the first rail end for attachment to the door surface, the first rail end further having a front portion that inhibits access to the first rail opening in a direction normal to the rail rear portion. The method for installing it includes securing a mount having a cantilevered portion extending therefrom to the door at the surface first end such that the mount cantilevered portion provides a space between the cantilevered portion and the door and placing the rail against the door surface such that the mount extends through the first rail opening, sliding the rail to engage the rail rear portion adjacent the first rail opening between the mount cantilevered portion and the door and securing the second rail end to the door surface. | 03-06-2014 |
