Abstract:
A wax-based drawing instrument having a substantially rigid wax-based cap
applied to the ends of the fingers of the hand. The instrument has a
frustroconical shaped internal cavity to allow the placement on a finger
tip. The user can have a different color on each finger, allowing many
colors to be used without having to put down one instrument and take up
another. Several colors can also be applied simultaneously.Claims:
1. A wax-based drawing instrument, comprising a substantially rigid
colored wax-based cap having an internal cavity to be applied to the ends
of the fingers of the hand.
2. An instrument as claimed in claim 1, wherein the internal cavity of the cap is of frusto-conical shape.
3. An instrument as claimed in claim 1, wherein the closed end of the cap is shaped as a point.
4. An instrument as claimed in claim 1, wherein the closed end of the cap is shaped in different ways to obtain different coloring techniques.
5. A drawing instrument comprising a cone shaped structure having a bottom, at least one side surface and a tip,an internal cavity,an open bottom allowing access to the internal cavity, the cone shaped structure formed of colored wax material.
6. The drawing instrument of claim 5, wherein the internal cavity has a frustroconical shape.
Description:
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001]The present invention relates to a wax-based drawing instrument.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002]Drawing instruments based on wax mixed with pigments are known, usable by children for writing and/or drawing on paper or other materials.
[0003]A first known type of instrument generally known as a pastel is substantially of rod shape with a circular, square or triangular cross-section, and generally gripped between the thumb, index and ring or middle finger, to be used one at a time on the support, on which it leaves a mark corresponding to its color.
[0004]Triangular or parallelepiped wax tablets are also known, as are spherical pastels which are gripped by all fingers of the hand, especially in the case of very young children.
[0005]Finally, finger paint, i.e. pasty colors, are known, these being withdrawn from a jar by the child and applied directly to the paper by the fingers.
[0006]In all cases, with all these known instruments only one color can be used simultaneously by each hand, this excluding the facility for freer expression of the creativity of the child, who expresses it either by using several colors simultaneously or by using the entire hand to apply impressions to the chosen support.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0007]The invention provides a wax-based drawing instrument enabling small children to fantasise in forming a plurality of expressive shapes and stimulate their creativity.
[0008]This object is attained according to the invention by a wax-based drawing instrument, having a substantially rigid wax-based cap to apply to the ends of the fingers of the hand.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009]The present invention is further clarified hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
[0010]FIG. 1 is a section through an instrument according to the invention, and
[0011]FIG. 2 shows them applied to the fingers of the hand.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012]As can be seen from the figures, the wax-based drawing instrument comprises a substantially cylindrical hollow body 2 closed at one end to form a point 4 and with the internal seat 6 of substantially frusto-conical form.
[0013]The instrument is used by inserting the tip of the finger 8 of the hand into the frusto-conical seat so that the instrument becomes a prolongation of the finger of the hand. In this manner the child can form shapes and drawings using a plurality of colors simultaneously. In addition, by keeping the fingers separated or together, either the pointed part can be used to form a substantially curved mark, or the lateral surface can be used to obtain a kind of shading or toning on the paper sheet.
